WHAT TO EXPECT

WORSHIP

Our worship service begins at 11:00am each Sunday and is centered around the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ from all of Scripture. During this time we also sing, pray, hear Scripture read, give our offerings and tithes, and take communion together as we seek to build each other up in love.

PREACHING

We believe that expositional preaching is vital to the health of a church. Expositional preaching seeks to explain what the text meant to the original audience and then bridge the gap between the original audience and the modern hearer. It aims for a response of faith and obedience to God's word.

MUSIC

The music we sing at Hope Church is a mix of old and new, but whether we're singing a 16th century hymn or a 21st century chorus, we always seek to emphasize congregational singing. We find that our affections are stirred more fully by unified voices than by individual performances.

CHILD CARE

We love children at Hope Church, and we want to come along side parents in order to engage every child with the gospel. We offer child care during our worship service for children 0-5 years old, but we also encourage parents who want to keep their children with them during the worship service.

Our Community

Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave free; but Christ is all, and in all.
Colossians 3:11 (ESV)

Our Community

Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave free; but Christ is all, and in all.
Colossians 3:11 (ESV)

At Hope Church, we believe that the gospel creates barrier-breaking community. To that end, our members seek to live out the gospel together in their homes and at their jobs all across the city of Knoxville. If you want to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ, or if you're interested in joining our community, just click one of the links below.

Our Convictions

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our Convictions

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Statement of faith

All who join Hope Church are required to affirm the Hope Church Statement of Faith and the Abstract of Principles. These statements register our belief in historic evangelical Christianity, believer’s baptism, and congregational polity.

church covenant

All who join Hope Church are required to affirm and abide by the Hope Church Covenant. This is not intended as a means of controlling behavior or limiting Christian liberty; rather, it should serve as a reminder for our members to "stir one another up to love and good works". (Heb 10:24)
